The Hypnotherapists Union Local 472 is known for seeking quality before quantity in its membership. It has three distinct membership classifications based on the Hypnotist's schooling and experience in the field. This gives the member the confidence of being able to verify to the client they have earned their classification title, and will give added assurance to the client that they are seeing a professional and not just a self-proclaimed Hypnotherapist.
The Hypnotherapists Union offers three levels of certification...
All students are eligible for the first level of certification, "Hypnotist" upon completion of a basic course in professional hypnotism provided by a vocational school of hypnosis that is either Nationally Accredited by an accreditation agency authorized by the U.S. Department of Education or is approved to operate in the State or region that it resides in.
Members are eligible for "Master Hypnotist" upon completion of 300 clocked hours of Hypnotherapy instruction provided by a vocational school of hypnosis that is either Nationally Accredited by an accreditation agency authorized by the U.S. Department of Education or is approved to operate in the State or region that it resides in.
Members are eligible for this highest level of certification once they have completed the requirements for "Master Hypnotist" and completed an additional 200 hours of supervised practical experience. This can be completed in school or by seeing clients and working with another Union Certified Hypnotherapist as a clinical supervisor. These supervision relationships can be conducted in person or through teleconference. Each hour spent with clients as well as each hour spent in discussion with a supervisor counts towards the 200 hour requirement.
