The Hypnotherapists Union Local 472 is known for seeking quality before quantity in its membership. It has three distinct membership classifications based on the Hypnotist's schooling and experience in the field. This gives the member the confidence of being able to verify to the client they have earned their classification title, and will give added assurance to the client that they are seeing a professional and not just a self-proclaimed Hypnotherapist.
The Hypnotherapists Union offers 3 levels of certification.
Members are eligible for certification as a "Master Hypnotist" upon completion of 300 or more clocked hours of sequential Hypnotherapy instruction, provided by a vocational school of hypnosis that is either Nationally Accredited by an accreditation agency authorized by the U.S. Department of Education or is approved to operate in the State or region that it resides in.
Members are eligible for the "Hypnotherapist" level of certification once they have completed the requirements for a Diploma in Hypnotherapy (or higher) from an accredited institution provided by a vocational school of hypnosis that is either Nationally Accredited by an accreditation agency authorized by the U.S. Department of Education or is approved to operate in the State or region that it resides in, consisting of a program of 500 or more clocked hours of sequential hypnotherapy instruction and practical experience, including all of the requirements of that course of instruction by an accreditation agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, or is approved to operate in the State or region that it resides in.
Members are eligible for the Clinical Hypnotherapist level of certification if they have met the requirements for "Certified Hypnotherapist" as listed above and in addition, have earned and/or possess an Associate Occupational Degree (AOD, AOS) in psychology, or a graduate level degree (M.D., Ph.D., Psy.D., MSW, MSN, M.A. or equivalent) in psychology, medical work, or social work, from an educational institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, or is approved to operate in the State or region that it resides in.
